About
Riding from the ground up is the key to a successful rider and here at Graceland Equestrian center you will learn everything from correct handling of your horse or pony to true balance. Those who are returning to ride once again will have the opportunity to grow into a more rounded equestrian. Clients with special needs can experience the body awareness horses give.

Horsemanship
Horsemanship skills are paramount here at Graceland. This means riders will learn to catch their horse, groom and saddle for each lesson. This instills a lot of confidence in new riders and gives them the opportunity duo get to know each horse on the ground before riding. As riders learn the basics and become more proficient, they will add more tools to their "toolbox" to help them work with all horses in our program and wherever life takes them.

Riding
At Graceland, we teach both Western and English riding - though our barn is predominately English. Riders will learn the basics of steering and riding at all three gaits - walk, tort, canter. After the basics are mastered riders can choose to branch out into different disciplines of jumping or dressage or combine them both in the sport of Eventing.
Graceland offers both private and group lessons.
Younger riders stay in private lessons until they are 8 or until they can demonstrate being able to ride independently and safely in a group setting.

I came to Graceland to revive my dressage skills which has been dormant for about 15 years...and I have not been let down. I have enjoyed and looked forward to every Saturday lesson.
My 8-yr old daughter has ridden for 2 years and previously thrown numerous times. She was so excited to go to lesson after lesson without falling off, and instead get to jump higher jumps and more advanced courses as her skills grew.
Maya
I love coming here to take lessons and learning how to handle many different horses. While going here I have definitely improved my riding and continue to improve and expand my knowledge of horsemanship and riding. Overall I think this place is amazing in brushing up your skills.

Dannielle is a great instructor. Im consistently impressed at her ability to notice specific details in my riding that need to be fixed and to offer useful feedback for improvement. She takes an interest in helping students work towards their specific goals and structures lessons with those goals in mind.
